Notes From Rowland January 2017

While sitting in my chair trying to think of a way to thank our Belmont family for all the cards, phone calls, gifts, and food that have blessed us during this special time of the year, it dawned on me that Joan and I enjoy these blessings all year. Belmont members show concern for others all year long: through food, clothing, and money given to our associational ministry. Also, we have a budget item for people with special needs. I wish we had some new words that would express the blessings, joy, and love shown to us this year. But all I can say is thank you!

By now, you may have heard that Joan and I were in an automobile accident December 4th. We were on Westlake Road on our way home on from the morning service when a car pulled out in front of us. Thankfully, we were traveling about 40-45 mph and the impact was not as bad as it might have been. The car was totaled, but no one was seriously hurt. Joan suffered two fractured ribs, and both of us had chest and back contusions (bruises and pain). We are improving a little each day, and were back in church for Christmas Eve   services.

Each time we get in our car we pray, “Lord, keep us safe, and not to be harmed or harm anyone else. Help us drive safely and stay alert.” God is good. All the time.

During the new year, share your testimony with someone every day: “The Lord bless you,” or “May I pray for you?” Don’t say bad things to others or about  others. God loves you when you love others. He said so.
