Notes From Rowland August 2017

The mother of a cousin dies, and her grandchildren were asked to have a part in the funeral service. Several grandchildren gave a similar response: they remembered their grandmother singing choruses and hymns while she worked in the kitchen. They would often go to the kitchen to sing with her. What a testimony to leave your family!

Singing, humming, or whistling during the day is good  for your health. It is relaxing and could make your day be easier. Yes, even at your job.

Spend part of your day with the Lord. I find that singing a chorus or a verse to a hymn is a good beginning. For instance:

“Oh, how I love Jesus

Oh, how I love Jesus

Oh, how I love Jesus

Because He first loved me.”

“Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul

Thank you, Lord, for making me whole

Thank you, Lord, for giving to me

Thy great salvation so rich and free.”

“In the presence of Jehovah

God Almighty, Prince of Peace

Hearts are mended, troubles vanish

In the presence of the King.”

“In the Morning When I Rise”

“Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know”

“God Is So Good”

Another good method for meditating is to have the names of people for whom you  want to pray. Include your family, friends, church family, pastor, or those struggling with illness, surgery, and recovery, etc.

Sometimes, we just need to be still and listen. Believe me, when you do this, it will enhance your life.
