Pastor’s Pen Sept 2017

I hope you are praying for our nation. We need God’s help so desperately bad. It seems like every day brings more turmoil—the hurricanes and the devastation which they brought, and the wild fires in the west and northwest. The islands in the Caribbean have been devastated by the hurricanes, and Mexico has been hit hard by earthquakes. And then we have the turmoil and controversy over the NFL players and their protests. We really need God’s help in a big way. We remember that II Chronicles 7:14 tells us: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. Pray for our nation and our leaders. We have problems which only God can solve. But God can solve them if we will turn to Him and seek His face.

We are so thankful for the rain which we have received. We have been so dry, and the rain is coming down as I write this on Tuesday, the 26th. Thank you, Lord.

I had the privilege of preaching the Senior Adult Revival for the Callahan Baptist  Association. We started Sunday night, the 24th, and finished up on Wednesday morning. It has been a real joy. I appreciate your prayers, and those who have attended the services.

The Fall Festival is always a fun time. Both  kids and adults enjoy it. We will have candy, hot dogs, and Frito pies. A bounce house will also be part of the fun. We start at 5:00 on the 29th. We need lots of candy for the kids who come. Bring your candy to the Fellowship Hall on Sunday or Wednesday.

In Christ,

Bro. Jimmy

P.S. CH__CH. What is missing? U R! Hope to see you on Sunday. Remember that Sunday School starts at 9:30 and worship at 10:45 and evening worship at 5:45.
